Studies have found that birth control pills can be used to relieve or eliminate dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea refers to women experiencing pain in the lower abdomen or waist during menstruation and before and after menstruation and even pain and lumbosacral pain. According to "The Times of India" reported on January 19th, the European version of the European magazine "Human Reproduction" published on the same day published a large-scale long-term study in Sweden found that contraceptives can be used to relieve or eliminate dysmenorrhea.

The new study was conducted by Dr. Ingela Lind, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology at the Institute of Clinical Science, Gothenburg University. The study spanned 30 years and related to more than 1,400 Swedish females born in 1962, 1972, and 1982. The data was analyzed in depth. The participants received a questionnaire survey at the age of 19 and five years later (at the age of 24) again received a questionnaire survey. The results showed that female participants taking oral contraceptives said that dysmenorrhea significantly eased. The researchers also took into account the age of the participants. As the age increases, dysmenorrhea in women will decrease. However, this effect of contraceptives is relatively independent and less influential.

Researchers said that doctors sometimes give birth control pills to relieve pain in patients with dysmenorrhea, many women confirmed that contraceptives can indeed be effective in the treatment of dysmenorrhea. However, scientific evidence is not consistent. Two studies completed in 2007 and 2009 found that the lack of randomized controlled trials (the gold standard for clinical research) in past related studies confirms that no clear answers can be given. New research helps to provide decisive answers.
